EDITORIAL

I will mention the currently global topic of Corona once in the editorial because it is almost unbelievable what this invisible (maybe self-created) enemy is capable of mobilizing, destroying and creating.

And it thereby keeps the whole world in suspense. And no matter where the virus has jumped over, broken out, or perhaps accidentally been released, the connection to our way of life and how we feed ourselves is as clear as crystal. HIV, SARS, CICA, swine flu, avian flu, COVID-19, it makes you think, "and what's next?" If we continue to live and consume as we do now, then no one should be surprised if, in the next few years, another virus appears on the doorstep and does not ask to enter. No, this is not a touch of sarcasm or foresight of a pessimist, but the logical conclusion of our thoughts and actions. But very few people seem to be aware of this. The conditioned victim attitude and our hormone-controlled body are an effective weapon against clarity and truth. Accordingly, it is difficult to bring about real changes in behavior and, at best, to make it a habit. But maybe this virus will succeed where no one else can. Namely, to slow us down and to reflect on what counts. Peace, family, friends, a roof over our heads, food, conversations, laughing, hugging, and our social interaction in general.

In this issue, there are lots of people and stories that show us how it works. How to act creatively, innovatively, and resource-sparingly despite the enormous challenges, and at the same time, contribute to the common good. How to manage and live the entire interrelated company activities sustainably, independent of products. How to enjoy the benefits of a purely plant-based diet without having to make significant sacrifices. While at the same time relieving the planet. Because it is now undisputed that by eating less meat and animal products in general, our organism and our entire environment will be relieved. Perhaps we will succeed in using this standstill as a chance for a new beginning, which uses the less is more principle as a template.

In this sense, I wish us all a wonderful summer full of encounters, hugs, and joyful experiences.

Sincerely,

Markus Megyeri
