Roxy is a proxy panel that is implemented in Premiere. When importing a high-resolution e.g. Full HD file, Premiere can create a proxy - quasi preview file - with exactly the same image and sound content but significantly higher compression or lower resolution, e.g. in mp4 format. When working in Premiere, the editor can access both files equally regardless of the codec and switch back and forth. Depending on the application, the proxy quality already meets the requirements, editing in Premiere also works exclusively on the basis of the proxy.
